What is Pichu?

About Pichu

Sometimes, pain isn't everywhere—it’s in one specific spot that just won't let go. Whether it’s a stiff neck, a sore shoulder, or a localized joint ache, targeted relief is essential. Pichu is Ayurveda’s answer to localized discomfort. This simple yet profoundly effective therapy involves a sustained application of warm medicated oil exactly where you need it. Discover the power of targeted healing with Pichu at Yara Wellness in Bali, where our traditional therapies are designed to melt away your specific aches in a serene and supportive environment.

Pichu is an Ayurvedic treatment where a thick cotton pad or cloth soaked in warm medicated oil is applied to a specific, affected area of the body. It is a form of " Snehana " ( oleation ) that allows for the continuous, deep penetration of herbal properties into a localized joint, muscle, or nerve.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before your Pichu session at Yara Wellness.

You will be provided with a disposable undergarment. The therapy is traditionally performed with minimal clothing to allow the herbal applications to reach all necessary areas of the body. Your privacy and comfort are always maintained with careful draping throughout the session.
A full Pichu session at Yara Wellness generally lasts 60 minutes, which includes the specialized therapy followed by a restorative resting period or a warm herbal steam bath to maximize absorption.
We recommend arriving on a light stomach. Avoid heavy meals at least 2 hours before your session. A small snack is fine, but a full meal may cause discomfort as the body's digestive energy and healing energy work optimally when not in conflict.
We suggest waiting at least 30–60 minutes before showering to allow the medicinal herbs and oils to continue absorbing into the skin and tissues. When you do shower, use warm (not hot) water and mild soap to preserve as much of the therapeutic benefit as possible.
